Devlog #06 - Production Sprint 01 - Week 03


Hi everyone!

It's time for another exciting devlog from the Eggshausted team! We're pleased to announce that we have just completed the first production sprint for our upcoming game, and it's been an amazing ride so far. We've managed to achieve most of our goals, and even surpassed some of them, thanks to our talented team of programmers and artists.

 

Build Progress

On the programming side of things, we're happy to report that we've finished all the core mechanics for the game, including digging and attacking from underground, grabbing and throwing other players. We've also managed to add some exciting player feedback features like making the player flash red as a damage indication, controller vibrations, and a screen shake effect. And to top it all off, we have finally added sounds to our game, including a looping woosh sound effect for when the player rotates with a cooking pan and many others to indicate different game events.

 

Of course, no game development process is without its challenges, and we had to deal with some bugs along the way. We have worked hard to resolve these issues and ensure that the game runs without any problems.


Art Progress


On the artistic side of our game, we have made significant progress. We replaced gameplay-related objects with proper models that use our toon shader, and we added decorative props such as hay bales, trees, and berry bushes. Our artist has also started working on the in-game HUD. To create a cohesive environment, we decided to use a common texture and pick different colours from it.



Overall, we are happy with our progress and look forward to starting our second production sprint with a feature-filled game. We will continue to work hard to make sure our game is the best it can be. Thank you for your continued support!
